The first step to creating an email account is to open Outlook and then navigate to "Tools->Account Settings..."
From the window that appears, select the "E-mail" tab if it is not already on top and then select "New..."
Be sure that the selection appears as below and then select "Next"
Enter the name that you wish to have attached to your outgoing emails in the "Your Name:" field
Enter the email address that you will be using for this account in the "E-mail Address:" field
Enter the password for this account in the "Password:" field and then in the "Retype Password:" field Note: The email address and password should already be supplied to you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or hosting provider
Check the "Manually configure..." box
Select the "Next" button
In this example we are creating an internet mail account so be sure that the selection appears as below and select the "Next" button
Some of these fields will already be propagated from the steps above but the primary concern here is to set the "Server Information"
"Incoming mail server:" and "Outgoing mail server:" should be provided by your ISP but if not, in most cases they will be mail.<site name> or mailhost.<site name>
Enter your "User Name:" and "Password:" (again, provided by your ISP)
Select the "Remember password" box
If your mail server requires advanced settings such as authentication or port changes, select the "More Settings..." button
